The Kuleshov Effect is a technique used in editing to link two or more clips that may or may not already be linked to each other. This then allows viewers to interpret more from the sequence of shots than is shown through the script.

Soviet Montage is a type of film that relies heavily on editing. This style of filmmaking and editing was used a lot in the Soviet Union around the 20s and 30s. It was widely used in government propaganda to instill a certain message into the minds of the people.
