Video Essay - Steven Spielberg

Steven Spielberg is a director, internationally known for films primarily within the adventure and action genres.

In 1975, Spielberg directed Jaws. This film made 'Steven Spielberg' a household name after the $7million budgeted film brought in $470.7million at the box office.

Alongside Jaws, Jurassic Park is one of Spielberg's most known films and due to them both being directed by Spielberg, we can see certain thematic, narrative and stylistic links.

One thematic link between the two films would be how the focus of the film is on attacks from dangerous, prehistoric animals. (Sharks and dinosaurs respectively).

Both films also have some of the most recognisable scores in the world of film. Both scores were composed by world renowned composer, John Williams.

In both Jurassic Park and Jaws, the characters experience trouble with the animals. This causes the park and beach respectively to be closed.
